Bpd reminders (i)

  • It is okay to feel guilty about setting boundaries but important to remind yourself that you have the ability to control the information you take in. You have the ability to decide what kind of relationships you want to have. 

How do you set a boundary?

  • mutual respect as a person and as an adult

How do i communicate?

  • one step at a time
  • i dont have to take it all in at once
  • send an email if it is too stressful in person
  • If you want to move beyond it, you have to work through it.
  • Continuing to not do it is reinforcing the fear
  • you start small and you practice
  • decide what is the most important thing to start with
  • you don’t do it all at once
  • you do it and then you do it again and again and again and slowly but surely you’ll be working through it
  • i keep telling myself i cant communicate (drawing a line in the sand, rigid and concrete and therefore i guess im not gonna do it because i cant)

i have struggled to communicate in the past 

 ^ this story is more hopeful 

  • write down the stories you are telling yourself and try to change them
  • identify whenever you have a thought that is reinforcing a story which isnt suiting you anymore
  • yes i have struggled to communicate in the past but i am working on changing it
